Perfectly Posh Ingredients 101 - Honey

Honey's ability to absorb and retain moisture helps keep skin hydrated and fresh and prevents drying. It is known that ancient beauties regularly applied a mixture of honey and milk to the face to keep the skin young-looking, radiant, and smooth.

Honey's natural antioxidant and anti-microbial properties help to protect the skin from the damage of the sun's rays, and supports the skin's ability to rejuvenate and refresh depleted skin, leaving it feeling silky soft and supple.
One of the most common natural skin care benefits with honey is related to treatment of minor acne which could be caused by hormonal changes. Honey absorbs impurities from the pores on the skin, making it an ideal cleansing agent.
Hydrogen peroxide is a component of honey. It gives most honey its antibiotic quality. But some types of honey, including manuka honey, also have other components with antibacterial qualities.

Manuka honey is found in our Honey Dip {Chunk} soap. Honey is also in our Honey, Honey! Hand Cream and Body Cream, as well as our It's the Bees Knees body scrub and Muddy Honey body mask.

Perfectly Posh Ingredients 101 - Caffeine

Caffeine actually has great benefits for your skin! No, I'm not suggesting you bathe in your morning cup of coffee. In small, topical amounts, caffeine can do a lot of great things for your skin.
Fights Free Radicals: Free radicals are responsible for causing premature skin ageing. This results in the appearance of wrinkles, sun spots and loss of elasticity. The antioxidants contained in caffeine can attack these free radicals and eliminate them. This will improve the overall look of your skin.
Soothes Inflammation:  Caffeine possesses anti-inflammatory properties that make it effective in reducing inflammation and redness in your skin. It can reduce and prevent inflammation and redness and give you beautiful, even skin tone.
Treatment of Under Eye Dark Circles: Under eye dark circles can be caused by various factors such as dehydration, allergies, lack of sleep or genetics. Caffeine cannot cure hereditary dark circles. Its anti-inflammatory properties make it beneficial in reducing puffiness and inflammation associated with dark circles. Caffeine also reduces the accumulation of blood under your eyes which contributes to dark shadows.
Reduces Cellulite: Caffeine present in skin care products can dehydrate fatty cells. This results in the water disappearing from the surface of your skin. This minimizes the appearance of cellulite, thus providing you with a smoother skin.
Treatment of Rosacea: Caffeine constricts blood vessels to reduce redness. This makes it an ideal treatment for facial flushing and rosacea. When applied topically, caffeine works as a diuretic, aids in circulation and is also a powerful antioxidant. Thus, it has the ability to calm irritated and reddened skin caused by sun damage and rosacea.
Tightens Skin:  Another added benefit of caffeine is that its topical use can tighten fine lines and smooth puffy skin. Caffeine used in creams is absorbed by your skin to firm and tighten its appearance. It also inhibits the growth of skin cancer cells.

Caffeine can be found in our Moisturize 911 caffeinated face cream, Caffeinator skin stick, Good Morning Beautiful chunk, Impish Eyes de-puffing serum,  and Never Grow Up anti-aging serum.

Spooky Posh!

Every year, Posh offers three exclusive holiday themed items for Halloween. Here are this year's!

The Cackle Spackle mask is an intense, deep-cleaning mask with a strong spearmint scent. This mask is nice and light, and you only need a little to cover your entire face. The mask left my face feeling quite refreshed, with a slight cool tingle.

The pumpkin scrub is FANTASTIC! It smells exactly like pumpkin pie! It is very scrubby, and left my skin incredibly smooth afterward.

The body wash is very nice! It has a light lavender scent with a hint of mint. This sulfate-free body wash will last for months!

You can find the Spooky Posh items under the Specials section here

Skindelicious Body Butters

Have you ever used a body butter that left you feeling kinda like a greased pig? It's awful, isn't it! Perfectly Posh has a line of body butters called "Skindelicious" and that's a pretty good description! These body butters are free of fillers like soy and lanolin (that's what makes most body butters just sit on the skin), each of which are specially blended with the most on-trend and nourishing ingredients. Cocoa butter is the main ingredient in the Portalandia, Brazillian Bombshell, Snarky Butter, and Moon over Sedona. Mango Marshmallow's main ingredient is mango seed butter. Fresh Creamy Milk uses shea butter as it's main ingredient. All of the Skindelicious are free of dyes. They are sulfate-free, and contain no petroleum.

These body butters are simply amazing. You only need a little bit, and it soaks into the skin right
away. My skin feels so incredibly soft and smooth when I use them!

Portlandia has a VERY light fragrance of jasmine, green melon and meadowfoam.
Brazillian Bombshell smells of sweet jungle fruit and sugar cane. It makes me think of the beach.
Snarky Butter is a light floral scent with sandalwood. It's my favorite of all the scents.
Moon Over Sedona smells like desert lime and sage.
Mango Marshmallow is a sweet, whipped candied marshmallow. This is a great one to use as a facial moisturizer to help clear up acne scars and dark spots. (Read more about mango in this post)
Fresh Creamy Milk is the thickest of them all. The scent is described as whipped milk with sugared lemon. It is a very light scent. I like to use this one on sunburns.

Ingredients 101 - Pumpkin

• Pumpkin is packed with fruit enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), which increase cell turnover, to brighten and smooth the skin.

• Pumpkin contains antioxidant Vitamin A and Vitamin C to help soften and soothe the skin and boost collagen production to prevent the signs of aging.

• Zinc in pumpkin seeds is brilliant for acne sufferers. Zinc will help control the hormone level and oil production, as well as assist with healing of the skin.

• Pumpkin seeds are high in essential fatty acids and Vitamin E, which are necessary to maintain good barrier function of the skin. They also regulate sebum, great for an oily skin.

• The molecular structure of pumpkin is small and therefore can penetrate deeper into the skin when used topically. This is amazing for treating a dull complexion, aging skin and pigmentation.

Pumpkin can be found in the Smashing Good Pumpkin face and body anti-acne face and body mask, and the limited edition "Spooky Posh" Pie to Die For pumpkin pie body scrub.

Ingredients 101 - Mango

Mangoes are great for your skin! They have the ability to reduce dark spots, blemishes and acne, thus imparting a natural glow to your skin. Vitamin A and Beta carotene in this fruit restore, rejuvenate and revive your skin with vigor as well as add shine to your skin.

The antioxidants present in this fruit delay the onset of skin ageing and pigmentation. They also protect your skin against the harmful free radicals which can cause skin cancer. Vitamin C helps in curing pimples and acne. When applied directly, it smoothens out your skin and acts as a natural moisturizer.

Mangoes are packed with vitamin A which is a vital nutrient for maintaining a healthy skin and complexion as well as the integrity of mucous membranes.

Mango is found in our Mango Marshmallow Skindelicious Body Butter, End Mend products, Man Balm (lip balm for men),  and Apricots Overnight moisturizing facial mask. I use the Mango Marshmallow as a facial moisturizer, and I really have noticed a difference! My skin tone is a lot more even after a month of using this instead of my usual moisturizer!
