Perfectly Posh Facial Masks - Acne Clearing and Prevention

No matter how young or old you are, you will deal with acne at some point. It's annoying. We are embarrassed by it and try everything we can to get it to go away and never come back.

Perfectly Posh has two masks created specifically to clear up and prevent acne. There are others that will help as a spot treatment, but we will discuss those in another post.

The first mask is the In The Clear deep cleaning mask. This mask has peppermint and lemon essential oils, white tea leaf extract, kaolin clay, and allantoin in it. The kaolin clay aggressively cleans out pores, and the allantoin moisturizes and soothes, stimulating new skin growth, which will help improve it's texture. It can also reduce redness and flaking. This mask is great for balancing pH levels in the skin.

The second mask is the Smashing Good Pumpkin face and body mask. This mask has kaolin, pumpkin, witch hazel, tea tree oil, and salicylic acid in it. I discussed the benefits of pumpkin in an earlier post - in a nutshell, pumpkin has many benefits for reducing acne, stimulating new skin cell regeneration, etc. The witch hazel helps reduce redness and swelling. The salicylic acid is used to reduce acne.

You pay HOW much for a pedicure???

Pedicures start with a soak in hot water, typically with some type of essential oil added, followed by a sand or salt scrub of some type, and finished with a massage with some type of cream/lotion with more essential oils in it, right? Yeah, toenails get painted as well, but we're not going to talk about nail polish in this post. I just want to focus on the pampering part.

Step 1 - soak. Perfectly Posh gives you a combo pack of All Mix'd Up bath salts that YOU mix and match however you want. Each packet is good for 2-3 baths, which equals 4-6 foot soaks depending on how much you use. Multiply that by 6, and you get up to 36 pedicure soaks for $20.

Step 2 - scrub. Here's the fun part. There are three different options here! First is the Rubby Scrubby stick (2.5 oz for $19 - will last a few months) which has a pleasant peppermint scent to it. Next option is the Rio Rumba sand scrub (9oz for $24 - will last a few months) that has sugar and white sand to exfoliate feet, and jojoba and açaí to soften. You could also use a Snarky Bar (5 scents to choose from, 6 oz bar for $16- cut it into chunks with a sharp knife and it could last you up to a year) which is a shea loaded soap with vegan polylactic acid beads to scrub away dead skin while softening the skin.

Step 3 - lotion/moisturize. There are a few options here, as well! The Play Footsie Line has a Warm Your Sole warming foot balm, Cool Your Sole cooling foot balm, and Schwanky & Soft exfoliating foot crème, all 2 oz tubes for $17, which will last you a few months.
In addition to the Play Footsie collection, you could also opt for a Skindelicious body butter (10 oz tub for $24 - they last for months!)

So let's add this up. I'll choose the most expensive items for this. Soak - $20. Scrub - $24. Moisturize - $24. $68.... Let's round up to $75 to account for tax and shipping, just for argument's sake.

For $75 you get at least 25 pedicures. That is $3 per pedicure! The products are made in the USA from naturally based ingredients. So the next time you're getting ready to schedule your next appointment, consider buying the products to do it at home!

Perfectly Posh product review - The Girl's Gone Green Skindelicious body butter

I've talked about body butters before on this blog. People often tell me "I don't like body butters. They make me feel like a greased pig." Before I found Perfectly Posh, I felt the same way. That weird feeling, where the "lotion" just sat on the surface of your skin, not doing a thing other than making you feel icky.

Perfectly Posh Skindelicious Body Butters are different. We use only the best butters and oils, and never use empty fillers.

The Girl's Gone Green is a new Skindelicious in this Spring/Summer 2016 catalog, and I just love it!

This body butter is SUPER thick and nourishing - loaded with shea butter and aloe vera. The shea butter and aloe in this body butter will make an awesome after-sun lotion!

The scent is described as "Spicy floral, vanilla, and amber." To me, it is a nice earthy type scent. A little floral without being flowery, almost like an expensive perfume you would buy at a high end department store.

Perfectly Posh Ingredients 101 - Tumeric

I'm not talking about eating Indian food. This is about topical uses of turmeric! In doing my research, I was interested to discover that one of the most important ceremonies of Indian weddings is the 'haldi' ceremony where a paste made of turmeric is applied to the bride and the groom’s body as part of their marriage preparations.

Tumeric has antiseptic and antibacterial properties, which is helpful in fighting acne breakouts, reduce oil secretion, and provide a youthful glow to skin.

Tumeric is also a great exfoliator when paired with honey. The tumeric will slough off dead skin cells while the honey adds a protective layer to the skin to help absorb moisture from the environment.

Tumeric is found in the Stay Gold face mask. Which, I might add, is fabulous!
