Support Small Businesses!

Saturday, November 26th is designated as Small Business Saturday by the US Small Business Association! So while you're out shopping, instead of hitting McDonalds or some other chain restaurant, choose a local mom & pop diner! Support the small businesses in your community!

You can also support small business online! I have my Perfectly Posh website, as you may know (if you aren't familiar with Posh, leave a comment with your email address! I would love to send you free samples!). But I want to tell you about some other women and men who also have their own small businesses! Links to websites are in blue!!

If you are looking for essential oils, let me tell you about my friend, Jill's company: Young Living. Young Living offers over a thousand essential oils (both singles and blends) that support overall health and wellness both physically and emotionally. Some of my Jill's favorite YL essential oils are the thieves blend, to support the immune system, RC Blend or the breathe again roll on which supports the respiratory system (must haves during the fall and winter months!), and the Pan Away blend which can soothe tired muscles after a work out or hard labor.  Thieves blend cough drops are also handy to put in your bag to keep your immune system at its best!

My friend, Micah, sells Modere clean living products. Modere offers similar products to Posh, in that they are free from harsh chemicals and other stuff you don't want to put on your skin. They also offer some weight-loss products, a full men's skincare line, even cleaning products!  I love that they offer dietary supplements and oral care products, and they also have great laundry soap pods that smell incredible!

My friend, Emily, is an Independent Designer for KEEP Collective whose mission is to give every woman the means to design her one of a kind life. "Living a happy life comes from always keeping in mind what truly matters: LOVE, FAITH, FAMILY, FRIENDSHIP & ADVENTURE. Each of our KEEPSAKES is a wearable touchstone, an instant reminder of the little things, the big things, and all things that make you unique." They have really cute charms that you mix and match to create custom bracelets, necklaces, key fobs, earrings....  If you're looking to create personalized, inspirational gifts this year, I recommend checking her site out!

Skip the Yankee Candle store this year! Quit the wick with Scentsy! My friend Gennell is a Scentsy Independent Consultant
. Scentsy offers "wickless candles" which use a low wattage bulb in really cute warmers to melt scented wax. The wax doesn't get as hot as it would in a candle, so it's much safer (not to mention no open flame!) than a candle. And you're not left with an empty jar!! Scentsy also has really cute stuffed animals called Scentsy Buddies, which have a pouch in the back that unzips so you can put a scent pak inside - I love these with a French Lavender scent pak in them in the bedroom: so relaxing!!

Leggings are all the rage right now! I have a Legging Army website where you can shop online for women's and children's leggings in a variety of patterns. There's also a very popular company called LuLaRoe which is a very unique company. My friend, Ginger is a local consultant with a great Facebook VIP group. LLR only makes a few thousand pieces of each print and style. Independent Stylists bulk order leggings (children, tweens, and women's), dresses, skirts, shirts, and cardigans without knowing what patterns they will receive. These consultants keep stock at home, and host Pop Up sales in home and online in Facebook groups. Because no two consultants will have the same items in stock, they also team up for multi-consultant groups!

My life would be incomplete without Pampered Chef! My friend, Ronda, is a Pampered Chef consultant here in NW Ohio. Pampered Chef is a cook's dream! Cooking utensils, knives, bakeware, cookware, even spices and oils. If you know someone who loves to cook, give Pampered Chef a try this year!

This year, before you buy from Bath & Body Works, Bed, Bath, & Beyond, Kohl's, GNC, or some other big box store, give a small business a chance. Shop small, shop local!

It's My Birthday!!!

As you are reading this, I am officially over the hill! Yep, today I turned "the big 4-0"! This past year a lot of things have changed!

I have been tobacco-free for a little over a year now! I have a new found love of food. I'm trying foods I never would have tried before (I love siracha, and hate falafel), and am enjoying cooking more, as well. Which translates into having a few more curves than I did a year ago, but that's okay! Women are supposed to have curves!

My skin has been changing, too. I don't know the science behind it, but as we age, the skin on our face changes. I've battled adult acne in places I've never had breakouts before. It's been interesting figuring out the right Posh products for my "old face" (LOL!). The Gender Bender charcoal soap and BFF exfoliating face wash used to work wonders for me. Then over the course of a few weeks, I noticed it wasn't working any more. Posh came out with the Olive My Love mild face cleanser, which I didn't think much of when I heard about it. It's an oil-rich cleanser, which made me think "um, I don't want to wash my face with oil!" Then my upline raved about it on our team page. So, I trusted her and bought one. WOW. It's awesome! It draws dirt and oil out of your skin, while cleansing and moisturizing at the same time. After I wash my face, I apply the zit zapper to any area that might need it, then apply the Never Grow Up Serum. This serum is amazing! I've been using it for maybe 6 months now, and I could swear it's reducing the appearance of my "laugh lines" around my eyes!

(Don't mind the mark on the bridge of my nose - that's from my glasses!)

I also got an unexpected promotion at my day job this summer! I'm an Electrical Controls Designer at my company's World Headquarters. I work for a Fortune 500 Architecture and Engineering Firm here in Ohio. With my promotion comes more responsibility, and requires more effort and less guidance, so I've got new opportunities to learn and grow!

Since it's my birthday, I'd like to do a giveaway!! Please leave me a comment to be entered into a drawing for a gift! I will send one (or two!) people something from this cabinet!

Perfectly Posh Products - What the heck is a Snarky Bar???

A Snarky Bar is a unique, aggressive exfoliating bar of soap. It's great for use on feet, and calloused
hands, or even rough patches of skin on the body.
Snarky Bars are loaded with shea butter, and chock full of vegan microbeads made from sugar, so it's environmentally friendly.
There are four different Snarky Bars in the current catalog (and there may be some retired ones available!)
Classic Pink Snarky Bar  is an awesome scent of exotic flowers and sandalwood. Hands down my favorite scent Posh has! It is, not surprisingly, pink.
Sorry, Not Sorry (how cute is that name!) has a fresh scent, described as fresh, frothy milk. This Snarky Bar is white in color. This Snarky Bar has oats in it, in addition to the microbeads.
The Dark Side (again, that name!) is a more masculine scent, described as musky amber and vanilla with an invigorating splash of citrus and melon. This one, again not surprisingly, is black in color. This Snarky Bar has dead sea salt in addition to the microbeads.
Raspberry Beret (pictured) is a sweet, fruity scent. I smell a lot of grapefruit with a hint of raspberry. As you can see, it has raspberry seeds in it, in addition to the microbeads.

I like to use the Snarky Bar on my feet in the shower, and also when I take time to pamper my feet with a mini pedicure (see my previous post about Posh Pedis) for more info. The Snarky Bars are fairly soft, so they can easily be cut into smaller pieces so they are easier to handle, and to extend the life of your bar. Store out of the spray of the shower for prolonged life of your soap!

A Day in The Life of a Perfectly Posh Consultant

Being a Perfectly Posh Consultant is tons of fun! I get paid to pamper!

I have a "9-5 day job," so I mostly work my Posh business on the weekends. I thought I'd share with you a typical Saturday as a Posh Consultant.

As soon as I get up, I hop in the shower. Posh sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner on my hair. Exfoliate my face with the fabulous Whole Lava Love volcanic ash exfoliator to exfoliate and draw out impurities, then wash with Pore-Fect face bar, loaded with tea tree essential oil to clean my pores. I exfoliate my body with one of our sugar scrubs (I have 4 different ones in the shower!), then wash with a {Chunk} bar or Posh body wash depending on what I want to smell like that day. Hop out of the shower, towel off, and apply a body butter to compliment the soap/body wash I used. Once I'm feeling pampered, I "open up shop."

I fire up the laptop, coffee in hand, and check on orders in my Virtual Office. Emails get checked good month/week I make sure to give them a shout out and acknowledge them publicly.
next, then I take a look at how my team's sales are going. If someone has low numbers, I reach out to them to encourage them, and offer ideas on finding new customers if they are struggling, or to reach out to past customers to see how they are liking their products. If a team member is having a particularly

I like to check in with my customers who have made recent purchases to see how they are liking what they bought. If I've sent out samples in the past week or two, I try to check in with the recipient to see what they had tried, and to get their opinions on the products. Speaking of samples, I try to find at least three new people a week who have never tried Posh, so that I can pamper them with a few samples. Sample packs get put together, along with a personal note to the recipient about how to use the products, and why I chose those particular products (if they did not request specific samples), And package them up for shipping out on Thursdays. Why Thursdays? Well, There is a post office a few blocks away from the office where I work, and on Thursdays in the spring/summer/fall, most of the food trucks in the metro area here park a few blocks past the post office, so I treat myself to lunch after I drop off at the post office. It's my way of tricking myself into getting exercise over the lunch hour (it's about a mile walk down and back to the food trucks parking location). Sometimes it's tacos, sometimes a burrito, sometimes nachos from the Tex-Mex truck that has awesome hot sauce. Sometimes it's grilled cheese and tomato soup (gourmet, of course), sometimes broiled salmon sandwich with siracha mayo and hand cut fries, occasionally bacon mac & cheese from a truck specializing in fried fresh perch and gourmet grilled cheeses. And sometimes it's a veggie burger and hand cut fries from a truck specializing in "comfort food." There are other food trucks (Italian, Cuban, BBQ...), but those are the three I visit most often. Since I gave up tobacco just under a year ago, I've become a bit of a foodie, and seek out new foods to try often. I've been on a spicy food kick lately. Know of something I should try? Leave me a comment!

Once my team and my customers have been properly attended to, I focus on the other aspect of my business: social media. I plan out the week's posts - write a blog post for Monday (sometimes a few at a time if I get on a roll!), think about a possible Instagram (I'm @posh_megrich) post (that's one I'm still figuring out - I like words too much! Photos are harder for me), I think about Facebook posts for my business page, and I think about what kind of video I could make for my YouTube channel.

Once social media is taken care of for the week, I focus on personal growth. I have vast amounts of training available to me in my Virtual Office through something called the Posh Academy. There are videos there for new consultants to watch,  and answer questions about, to earn Posh Points to use to purchase business supplies, and even earn free business supplies for completing 30, 60, and 90 day milestones. I go back and watch these videos from time to time. I learn a new trick every time I watch them. They have also recently created additional videos for long time consultants who might need a little "pick me up" to inspire themselves again, or just want to soak up all the knowledge they can from other high ranking Consultants. All the training videos are made by Posh Consultants! I like to watch at least one video a week. I have a notebook full of notes from the videos I watch. I have post-it notes on top of my original notes for the videos I have re-watched!

Oh, and I do all this while pedaling on my desk bike, so I'm burning calories while I work! (Yep, that's my Fit Bit on my sandal. It helps me get an idea of how many calories I've burned)

Perfectly Posh Hot Pepper Sha-Bang Review

Perfectly Posh - Best Shower Ever!

I have a confession. Before I found Posh, I HATED taking a shower.  I still took them, but it was out of necessity, and they lasted 5 minutes or less. Now that I know all the wonderful things Posh has to offer, I look forward to a long shower. I have been known to take two showers on a Saturday or Sunday, just because I felt like it!

So let's talk about the Best. Shower. Ever.

I had a wax warmer on for about an hour, with a nice lavender scent in it, so the bathroom smelled I'm Turning Blueberry soothing face mask first, using a mask applicator brush.  Then set the shower head set to a rainfall intensity spray, and the water nice and warm, but not hot.
lovely and relaxing. I applied the

Stand under the water for a few minutes, then wash my hair with the End Mend Shampoo, followed by End Mend Conditioner which I combed through my hair and let sit. (After my hair dried, it was silky smooth!)

Now that my hair was being pampered, I rinsed the face mask off, then washed my face with the Olive My Love gentle face wash, followed by the Whole Lava Love for a nice exfoliation. My face was so soft and smooth afterward, I couldn't believe it.

With my face feeling pampered, it was time to focus on the rest of me. I used the  Love the Dark scrub from neck to waist for an all-over exfoliation which left my skin silky smooth. I moved on to the legs - again I used Love the Dark, but as a shaving cream! I rubbed it in until it turned into a lather of sorts, then shaved without rinsing first. This gave me a nice, close shave, by exfoliating before the razor hit my legs.

I didn't want my feet to feel left out, so I used the Rubby Scrubby exfoliating soap stick all over my feet to get off dead skin and callouses. The peppermint essential oil in it left me with a cool tingle, while my feet were nice and smooth.

Lastly, I used the Good Morning Beautiful {Chunk} to wash. I actually use a shower pouf with the {Chunk} - I just rub the soap on the pouf (which produces a nice lather, more than just using the {Chunk} directly on the skin) and then wash with the pouf. Rinse off, rinse conditioner out of my hair, and hop out of the shower!

Now it's time to moisturize! First I used the Never Grow Up anti-aging serum all over my face and neck to fight crow's feet and laugh lines from forming/getting worse. Next, I grabbed the Snuggle Buddy Skin Joy body butter which is a nice floral scent, but not girly at all, and not "old lady" floral, either. And there's just a hint of vanilla to it. Snuggle buddy from neck to toes! It soaks in really quickly, so I was able to get dressed right away without worrying that it would rub off on my clothes. By that time, the serum had plenty of time to soak in, so I used the Never Grow Up face cream to do double duty on the crow's feet and laugh lines. I may be turning 40 this year, but I don't want my face to look like I am!

I felt like I had just spent hours at a spa! But I didn't have to leave the house, spend a ton of money,  or put on any makeup!

Before bed, I will use the Call It A Night face oil on my face and neck, followed by the Goodnight Kisses lip mask, and the Warm Your Sole foot balm for some moisturizing and pampering while I sleep!

Perfectly Posh Product Review: Girl Crush Skin Joy Body Butter

This catalog transition, the body butters got a facelift! Posh kept the two base formulas and changed it up a bit. They added a foil vacuum seal, which allowed us to reduce the number of natural preservatives used.

Girl Crush is the shea butter base formula, which is the thicker of the two. As you can see in the photo, it is very thick and creamy! The amount I have on my finger here was enough to cover both arms! This is going to be fabulous this winter when my skin gets dried out!

The scent is amazing. It's described as "a blend of apricot, orange, and a tart cranberry twist." I can't detect much of the cranberry, but the blend of apricot and orange is divine.

After putting this on my arms to check out the scent and feel, I have to say this is pretty awesome. My skin is nice and hydrated. I don't feel greasy at all! Like all the other Posh products, this body butter soaks right into the skin, rather than sitting on top of it like an oil slick.

Perfectly Posh Product Review: Orange Cara-Mellow lip scrub

I love our lip scrubs, especially in winter. To me, they are exfoliating lip balms. You put a small amount on your lips, and rub your lips together. The granules of sugar remove dead skin, allowing the balm to penetrate deep to moisturize and nourish. Licking the excess sugar off is the best part!

Lip scrubs combine sugar granules with shea butter, sweet almond oil, beeswax, honey, cocoa butter, macadamia seed oil, coconut oil, and jojoba oil to nourish lips.

The lip scrubs this fall/winter are smaller than before, and the oval shaped tin is easy to open. The previous tins were occasionally very difficult to open.

The Orange Cara-Mellow lip scrub tastes exactly as you would think it would. Orange with a hint of caramel. I actually really like it. I thought it would be an odd flavor combination, but it's not! In the tin, I smell more caramel, but taste more orange.

There is also a Snowed In lip scrub this fall/winter, which is a nice vanilla-mint flavor. I will definitely be getting that one this winter!

Perfectly Posh Product Review: Dressed to Chill BFYHC

As you may recall from earlier posts, I am obsessed with the Big Fat Yummy Hand Crèmes. Obsessed might be an understatement, as I currently have 14 different ones sitting here on my desk. Yes, fourteen.

Dressed to Chill is the most recent addition to my collection, and I'm in love once again! They have reformulated the lotion a little bit - they altered the packaging so that they could use less preservatives. This new formula, to me, is awesome because you need EVEN LESS product, and it still absorbs right in to the skin, without leaving hands feeling greasy. In fact, now my hands have an almost powdery  feeling to them!

This BFYHC has coconut oil in addition to the apricot kernel oil the others have. The scent is amazing. It's a nice, light cranberry orange. It's described as "a wintery sweet cranberry orange," and I think that's the perfect description!

As with all other BFYHC, there is no coloring added, so the lotion is white in color. This is also vegan, and flight friendly! There are two types of BFYHC (in my opinion): one is thick, like the Lil Snarky; one is on the thinner side. This one is the thinner type, if that matters to you. I know some people prefer the thicker ones! Me? I don't care. I love them all!

Come back next week for a review of the Orange Cara-Mellow sugar lip scrub!

Perfectly Posh new products!

My transition kit is here! I got the Dressed to Chill Big Fat Yummy Hand Crème, Raspberry Beret Snarky Bar, Sugar Mama body scrub, I Love You a Whole Brunch {Chunk} soap, Immunator Skin Stick, Orange Cara-Mellow lip scrub, Giving Me Life face mask, and samples of the I'm Turning Blueberry face mask, and Boho Soul Big Fat Yummy Hand Crème.

I'm so excited to try everything, but I'm going to review ONE product at a time. This is going to take some SERIOUS willpower!!!!

I'm a face mask junkie, so I'm going to start with the Giving Me Life tightening and brightening face mask. This mask is packed with awesome ingredients like Kaolin, Bentonite (clay), and Tea Tree oil to deep clean, Glycerin to exfoliate and hydrate.

There is no added fragrance, so the mask has an earthy scent, similar to clay. It is white, and is nice and thick. With all Posh face masks now in tube form, they are much easier to apply. (And they'll take up a lot less room!)

Unlike other Posh masks which contain kaolin, this mask did not tingle at all while I wore it. It was a very pleasant experience! I left it on for 5 minutes, but I could have left it on for up to 10 minutes. I did not notice any redness after using this mask, which was interesting because most masks make me red for a little while after using them. As always, I made sure to moisturize after I washed the mask off.

Come back next week for a review of the Dressed to Chill BFYHC!

Micellar cleansers

There's a popular cleanser making the rounds, which are called micellar cleansers, or micellar cleansing waters. Micellar water is made up of micelles (tiny balls of cleansing oil molecules) suspended in soft water. Micelles are attracted to dirt and oil, so they are able to draw out impurities without drying out the skin. So what you have, essentially is a cleanser and moisturizer in one. No rubbing or scrubbing. No water needed!

Perfectly Posh has a Micellar Toner that they are offering to brand new Consultants who join between August 1st and August 31st. This is an exclusive product not available for purchase!

As a Posh consultant, you never pay for your website, and you get paid weekly! The starter kit is $99 for over $250 in products, as well as business supplies like catalogs and order forms. You also get a cute Posh Consultant tee and tote!

There is a great 30/60/90 day training program and incentive through your back office where you can earn up to $360 in Perk Points to use towards business supplies or product, as well as personalized labels, business cards, and even a car cling!

Perfectly Posh Fall/Winter catalog is coming!

Posh comes out with a new catalog twice a year, in February and in July. Posh likes to keep things
seasonal! In July, it's HOT! It's time to start thinking of cooler days, so we transition into fall/winter scents. And in February, it's high time we start thinking spring, so we transition back into the more spring/summery scents.

The new Fall/Winter catalog is being revealed on Friday night around 9pm EST! Follow @perfectly_posh on Instagram for live reveals of retiring products and new products, Check out the Posh Facebook page for live reveals, or "like" my Posh page on Facebook to see all the new goodies! Websites will be down until around 10pm EST while the new products are added and retiring products are moved to the closeout section of the site.

The retiring products have been announced. If you missed seeing the list, all the retiring products can be found here. Complexion Perfection and the Hot Pepper Shabang! body butter have already sold out and gone into the vault.

With that being said, DON'T FREAK OUT!!!!! Just because a product retires, doesn't mean it's gone forever. Posh consistently changes with the seasons. And I've seen popular products return many times. And if it doesn't come back, it is replaced with something even better!

So, what does this mean for you? I'm glad you asked! New, awesome things are coming, and I get to share them with you!

As a consultant, I had to opportunity to order what is referred to as a "transition kit." This is a package of 7 new products, catalogs, and 2 packs of samples (I don't even know what I'm getting!) which will ship out on the 29th. I will try out all the new products, post reviews, and even send out samples! If you would like to be on the list of people to receive samples, please comment on this post, or send me an email with your mailing address to mrichards@bex.net.

Perfectly Posh Ingredients 101 - Charcoal

Charcoal is an amazing ingredient!

Charcoal draws dirt, bacteria, chemicals, and other impurities to the surface of the skin, absorbing over 1,000 times its weight in free radicals and pollution. Charcoal is great for treating/preventing acne. It is also great for relief from skin irritations like insect bites or poison ivy.
Charcoal is the key ingredient in the Gender Bender {Chunk} soap. This soap is, as you might guess, black. It has a nice piney scent described as "woodsy amber and soft citrus." It lathers nicely, and leaves skin soft and smooth. This soap is great for helping prevent acne because the charcoal draws out impurities in the skin.
The Whole Lava Love volcanic ash face exfoliator pairs charcoal and volcanic ash for a fabulous home spa facial experience. Paired with natural exfoliating beads, this product will give you a "microderm abrasion" removing dry, dead skin, to reveal young, healthy skin while helping to prevent fine lines. This has a tea tree and mint scent.
The Love the Dark black salt body scrub is amazing. It's just what it sounds like - a body scrub with black sea salt and charcoal. It's great for all over body exfoliation. With a sea breeze scent, this will leave you soft and smooth from head to toe.
The Stripper Body Mask is packed with charcoal. It was recently re-formulated with 2000% MORE charcoal. This mud mask is designed for use on the body, and has a spiced vanilla scent. It is great for areas of the body that tend to get "stinky" like feet! The charcoal will pull the bacteria out of skin, leaving you with a deep clean. The Stripper is GREAT for bug bites, or rashes from poison ivy/sumac/oak. Apply a layer of the mask over irritated areas, and allow to dry. It will pull the toxins out of the skin and leave you less itchy!
The Cackle Spackle detoxifying face mask is also packed with charcoal! This is a gentler version of a charcoal mud mask, formulated for the face. This mud mask smells like spearmint, and gives a nice tingling sensation when used. This mask is a great one to use to draw out impurities, and help prevent acne.

Coconut Oil!

Coconut oil is a hot trend right now, and for good reason! I wanted to talk about some of the many awesome uses for coconut oil on skin and hair, so let's get this show on the road!

First of all let me talk about how to tell if you have good quality coconut oil. Coconut oil is naturally in a solid state at temperatures below 72 degrees Fahrenheit.  My coconut oil stays solid for 8-9 months out of the year, because we keep the house so cool in winter (68 is the highest the thermostat ever goes)!

Here's my bottle of Posh Life Coconut oil after it had been 80 degrees outside for three days (There's no central air in the house, and my bathroom is on the top floor of the house, where it is the warmest). As you can see it has just about completely melted. In the winter/cooler months, if I want to use the coconut oil, I just run it under hot water, or put on the floor of the shower while I wash up, and by the time my shower is done, it's liquid again!
Ok, now let's talk about uses of Coconut Oil!
  1. Dandruff – Oil secretion may be one of the most common causes of dandruff. Coconut oil reduces it, as well as it moisturizes the scalp and alleviates the dandruff symptoms. Apply coconut oil as a "mask" to hair and let sit for an hour (or overnight if you wish). Wash and condition hair as usual.
  2. Skin Conditions – It provides relief in the case of eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis.
  3. Wrinkle Prevention and reduction – rub some coconut oil on the wrinkles and sagging skin, and you will strengthen the connective tissues and rejuvenate the skin.
  4. Dry or cracked lips – Rub some coconut oil on your lips and it will soften them and protect them, as it has an SPF of about 4.
  5. After Shave – Coconut oil successfully heals the skin after shaving and does not clog the pores.
  6. Makeup remover - Apply a few drops to a cotton ball and remove makeup, leaving your skin soft and radiant.
  7. Stretch Marks – This oil effectively nourishes damaged skin and miraculously reduces stretch marks.
  8. Moisturizer – Apply some coconut oil to hands and body
  9. Tattoo Healing and Moisturizer – The regular use of coconut oil will prevent fading of the pigment and it will accelerate the healing process and prevent infections.
  10. Sun Burn Relief – Rub some coconut oil into the affected areas and to relieve sunburned skin.
  11. Acne Skin Fix – Apply a bit of coconut oil underneath the makeup or alone in order to reduce the stimulation of the oil gland. Usually, the skin which is susceptible to acne may be too dry and thus indicate that the gland excessively produces oil and the pores are clogged.
  12. Cradle Cap – It effectively nourishes the baby skin and helps you get rid of cradle cap. You should rub some into the scalp on a daily basis.
  13. Diaper Rash – It has no chemicals, and completely safe for  cloth diapers.
  14. Healing – As soon as you apply coconut oil on the cuts and scrapes, it creates a thin chemical layer which prevents viruses, bacteria, and dust. It accelerates the healing process by repairing the damaged tissues.
Perfectly Posh currently has two Coconut Oils available in the Posh Life line. One is a Lemonberry scent (a fabulous lemon and raspberry scent - the same scent as the Honey, Honey! hand and body cremes, if you are familiar with them), as well as a no scent added version.

Sensitive skin? No problem!

I've had a few people tell me they have a really hard time finding soaps, face washes, lotions, etc. because they have sensitive skin. Usually this is because their skin doesn't like the harsh chemicals in most products. Or artificial perfumes/scents. Maybe they are allergic to soy.

I love it when I hear "I have sensitive skin!" Because Perfectly Posh doesn't use soy as a filler. We only use the finest essential oils, and some of our products don't even have added fragrance. And we use only naturally based ingredients! We don't use petroleum byproducts, no sulfates, no SLS... We use gentle ingredients, natural butters and oils. Our products are pampering because of the quality of the ingredients.

One person in particular has the most incredibly sensitive skin, I couldn't believe it! She really wanted a facial mask, but at the time, every mask I had for her to try was too intense for her face. So on a whim, I ordered a mask I had no interest in personally trying. She LOVED it! The next catalog came out, and there was a new mask quite similar to one that had previously caused an adverse reaction. She told me she wanted to try it, and I was leery of giving her a sample. I gave her a sample, warning her that it was intense like one she had used before, and that it would probably sting. I even gave her a second mask to use after, just in case it "burned" the way charcoal masks do. Turns out, she LOVED the new charcoal mask!

So no matter what your skin type is, or how sensitive your skin may be, Posh has products for you! My website actually has a feature where you can type in any ingredient you may be sensitive to or allergic to, and it will pull up every product that contains that ingredient!

To check out all the fabulous pampering products, visit my site here: https://MegRichards.po.sh/

Perfectly Posh Facial Masks - Acne Clearing and Prevention

No matter how young or old you are, you will deal with acne at some point. It's annoying. We are embarrassed by it and try everything we can to get it to go away and never come back.

Perfectly Posh has two masks created specifically to clear up and prevent acne. There are others that will help as a spot treatment, but we will discuss those in another post.

The first mask is the In The Clear deep cleaning mask. This mask has peppermint and lemon essential oils, white tea leaf extract, kaolin clay, and allantoin in it. The kaolin clay aggressively cleans out pores, and the allantoin moisturizes and soothes, stimulating new skin growth, which will help improve it's texture. It can also reduce redness and flaking. This mask is great for balancing pH levels in the skin.

The second mask is the Smashing Good Pumpkin face and body mask. This mask has kaolin, pumpkin, witch hazel, tea tree oil, and salicylic acid in it. I discussed the benefits of pumpkin in an earlier post - in a nutshell, pumpkin has many benefits for reducing acne, stimulating new skin cell regeneration, etc. The witch hazel helps reduce redness and swelling. The salicylic acid is used to reduce acne.

You pay HOW much for a pedicure???

Pedicures start with a soak in hot water, typically with some type of essential oil added, followed by a sand or salt scrub of some type, and finished with a massage with some type of cream/lotion with more essential oils in it, right? Yeah, toenails get painted as well, but we're not going to talk about nail polish in this post. I just want to focus on the pampering part.

Step 1 - soak. Perfectly Posh gives you a combo pack of All Mix'd Up bath salts that YOU mix and match however you want. Each packet is good for 2-3 baths, which equals 4-6 foot soaks depending on how much you use. Multiply that by 6, and you get up to 36 pedicure soaks for $20.

Step 2 - scrub. Here's the fun part. There are three different options here! First is the Rubby Scrubby stick (2.5 oz for $19 - will last a few months) which has a pleasant peppermint scent to it. Next option is the Rio Rumba sand scrub (9oz for $24 - will last a few months) that has sugar and white sand to exfoliate feet, and jojoba and açaí to soften. You could also use a Snarky Bar (5 scents to choose from, 6 oz bar for $16- cut it into chunks with a sharp knife and it could last you up to a year) which is a shea loaded soap with vegan polylactic acid beads to scrub away dead skin while softening the skin.

Step 3 - lotion/moisturize. There are a few options here, as well! The Play Footsie Line has a Warm Your Sole warming foot balm, Cool Your Sole cooling foot balm, and Schwanky & Soft exfoliating foot crème, all 2 oz tubes for $17, which will last you a few months.
In addition to the Play Footsie collection, you could also opt for a Skindelicious body butter (10 oz tub for $24 - they last for months!)

So let's add this up. I'll choose the most expensive items for this. Soak - $20. Scrub - $24. Moisturize - $24. $68.... Let's round up to $75 to account for tax and shipping, just for argument's sake.

For $75 you get at least 25 pedicures. That is $3 per pedicure! The products are made in the USA from naturally based ingredients. So the next time you're getting ready to schedule your next appointment, consider buying the products to do it at home!

Perfectly Posh product review - The Girl's Gone Green Skindelicious body butter

I've talked about body butters before on this blog. People often tell me "I don't like body butters. They make me feel like a greased pig." Before I found Perfectly Posh, I felt the same way. That weird feeling, where the "lotion" just sat on the surface of your skin, not doing a thing other than making you feel icky.

Perfectly Posh Skindelicious Body Butters are different. We use only the best butters and oils, and never use empty fillers.

The Girl's Gone Green is a new Skindelicious in this Spring/Summer 2016 catalog, and I just love it!

This body butter is SUPER thick and nourishing - loaded with shea butter and aloe vera. The shea butter and aloe in this body butter will make an awesome after-sun lotion!

The scent is described as "Spicy floral, vanilla, and amber." To me, it is a nice earthy type scent. A little floral without being flowery, almost like an expensive perfume you would buy at a high end department store.

Perfectly Posh Ingredients 101 - Tumeric

I'm not talking about eating Indian food. This is about topical uses of turmeric! In doing my research, I was interested to discover that one of the most important ceremonies of Indian weddings is the 'haldi' ceremony where a paste made of turmeric is applied to the bride and the groom’s body as part of their marriage preparations.

Tumeric has antiseptic and antibacterial properties, which is helpful in fighting acne breakouts, reduce oil secretion, and provide a youthful glow to skin.

Tumeric is also a great exfoliator when paired with honey. The tumeric will slough off dead skin cells while the honey adds a protective layer to the skin to help absorb moisture from the environment.

Tumeric is found in the Stay Gold face mask. Which, I might add, is fabulous!

Perfectly Posh product review - Good Vibes BFYHC

I absolutely love the Big Fat Yummy Hand Cremes (BFYHC)! No joke, I have 10 different ones here on my desk! Every time a new catalog comes out, I find a new favorite, and this Spring/Summer 2016 did not let me down!

BFYHCs are made with coconut oil and apricot kernel oil. As you may have read in an earlier post about the BFYHC, you only need about a pea-sized amount. The lotion absorbs into your skin quickly, without leaving your hands feeling greasy.

The Good Vibes BFYHC has no dyes added (none of them do!) - just a creamy white lotion. And the SMELL!!!!

This smells like summer! The scent is described as "juicy mango with a hint of coconut." To me, it's a tropical drink on a white sandy beach, somewhere in the Caribbean. Fruity and sweet... I just want to lick my hands when I use it! It also reminds me of a really good smelling suntan lotion - the coconut in it isn't overpowering, it just adds to the "lying on a beach" feel of the scent of the lotion.

This is going to be my "go-to" hand cream this summer, for sure!

Seriously, I have 10 BFYHC here at my desk!

Perfectly Posh Ingredients 101 - Sugar

We all know to avoid a lot of sugar as part of a healthy diet. That is the exact opposite when it comes to your skin!

Sugar is a natural humectant, meaning it draws moisture from the environment into the skin. So when you apply products with sugar or sugar derivatives, they’ll actually help hydrate your skin and keep moisture within.

Sugar is a natural source of glycolic acid, which penetrates the skin and breaks down the “glue” that bonds skin cells, encouraging cell turnover and generating fresher, younger-looking skin. The NY Minute face mask is a glycolic mask that removes dead skin cells, deep cleans pores, and reveals vibrant, beautiful skin.

Sugar's small particles are an awesome exfoliant, and because of sugar's natural humectant properties, a sugar scrub or exfoliating bar with sugar in it will hydrate while also exfoliating!

Posh uses sugar or it's derivatives in a LOT of their products. Lip Scrubs are awesome, because when you rub your lips together after applying, the sugar is sloughing off dead skin cells, which allows the lip balm part of the product to penetrate deeper into your skin.

The BFF exfoliating face wash uses microbeads derived from sugar cane to gently exfoliate and protect your face.

And of course, we have many fabulous body scrubs and Snarky Bars! Snarky Bars are shea-butter loaded soaps with the same microbeads derived from sugar cane.

So never let anyone tell you that sugar is bad for you! It is GOOD for you!!!!

If you only have 2 minutes to pamper yourself, grab a Big Fat Yummy Hand Cream! If you have 10 minutes, put on one of the fabulous facial masks and relax while it does it's magic!
