Perfectly Posh Ingredients 101 - Lavender

The health benefits of lavender oil for the skin can be attributed to its antiseptic and antifungal
properties. It is used to treat various skin disorders such as acne, wrinkles, psoriasis, and other inflammatory conditions. Additionally, lavender can help with the following:

Bug Repellent: The smell of lavender essential oil is potent for many types of bugs like mosquitoes, midges, and moths. Additionally, lavender has anti-inflammatory qualities that will reduce the irritation and the pain associated with bug bites.

Sleep: Lavender induces sleep which has made it a common recommendation for an alternative treatment of insomnia. It has such a relaxing impact on people that it can often replace modern medicine for sleep issues.

Nervous system: Lavender has a calming scent which makes it an excellent tonic for the nerves and anxiety issues. Therefore, it can also be helpful in treating migraines, headaches, depression, nervous tension and emotional stress.

Acne: According to dermatologists, lavender essential oil is one of the most beneficial oils in the treatment of acne, especially cystic acne. Cystic acne is characterized by red, raised sores on the face and body. Lavender helps to reduce the swelling and redness.

Lavender can be found in the Sleepy Sleep stick, a shea butter loaded skin stick. It is also in our Tranquilizer Snarky Bar which is a very scrubby bar of soap, as well as the Sleepy Sleep and All Gussied Up "All Mixed Up" bath salts. The All Gussied Up Big Fat Yummy Hand Crème, Night and Day facial moisturizer, and Never Grow Up anti-aging serum also contain lavender.

Perfectly Posh and Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. One of the biggest reasons I choose Perfectly Posh products is because I don't want to have to spend the time at Target (or Walmart, or wherever) reading the ingredients of the products I'm going to put on my skin.
Make the conscious effort to avoid the ingredients listed in the above graphic. If you don't make the switch to Posh, at least read the ingredients before you buy something in the store. And make sure to get your mammogram!
